You’ve just won the lottery, what’s the first thing you will buy?
I would buy a better house for my parents, and make a trip to Paris!
Where in Mozambique did you grow up?
I grew up in my hometown, Quelimane, in the province of Zambezia, with my father, who is a teacher and my mother, who is domestic. I have an older sister and brother.
What’s your most memorable childhood memory?
My best memories of childhood are the times when I played with other kids in my neighborhood until late, and we were dirty and ecstatic about playing games that we liked.
Who is your favourite music artist?
I like pop music, so there are several of my favourite singers, among them: Michael Jackson, Brunos Mars, Beyoncé, Coldplay and Pink. I also appreciate the musical styles Kisomba and Zouk, especially the singers Matias Damásio, Edmázia and Tabanka Jazz.

“I dream of a Mozambique where the professionals are better qualified for working in the field, going through an academic formation more committed to the quality of trained cadres. I want to develop the skills, attitudes and experiences needed to enter the labor market and have success, contributing to the development of my country”

What would you like to be doing in 5 years time?
I would like to be in a big company as a promising young graduate and contribute to their growth. I dream of doing my degree abroad, so I would like to travel with my work.
What or who is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is my father. He left the family when he was 17 years old, at a troubled time in our country (the war of 16 years), to study in another place where he had no family or acquaintances. He graduated in history teaching and I believe that doing a retrospective, he feels victorious. I’m proud of him and I see him as an example to follow to run after my dreams, and for his persistence.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
I am proud to have graduated from high school as one of the best students in the Civil Construction course, and more recently have been selected to participate in the Field Ready program.
Finally, what is your most hated food?
I hate boiled fish and cabbage, but I appreciate them when prepared in some special ways.
