The Field Ready Mozambique programme launched in February 2019. It is operated, under licence, by the Matola Industrial and Commercial Institute and the Nampula Industrial and Commercial Institute. The programme is supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Higher and Technical Vocational Education (MCTESTP) and National Professional Education Authority (ANEP).
Cohort 1 (2019)
20 students, 30% of which are women, were selected onto the programme from over 350 applicants from all provinces of Mozambique. They have a diverse range of educational backgrounds with both degree and medio-tecnico level qualifications in multiple engineering disciplines.
Scholarships have been provided by Anadarko, the Maputo Ports, Sasol and HCB.
The 32-week programme is delivered by six instructors in Matola and seven instructors in Nampula, supported by Inacio Sambula, Instructor Support Consultant. In addition to the core Field Ready programme, both students and instructors are undergoing English language training led by our partners, the Language Institute, an organisation under the Ministry of Education.
Applications for Cohort 2 will open in September 2019. The programme will start in February 2020.
